Can A Physician Assistant Become A Doctor In Ghana?

If you want to offer medicine as a Physcian Assistant, you will have to apply to either University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), University for Development Studies (UDS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and other medical schools in Ghana to do additional 6 years.

If you want to do only four years you have to apply for the UG Graduate Entry Medical Program.

The University of Ghana’s Post Graduate Medicine Program is a four-year program that allows physician assistants and other allied health practitioners to attend medical school and graduate as fully fledged medical doctors after just four years.

The University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS) invites eligible candidates to apply for admission to the Graduate Entry Medical Program for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

To apply to this curriculum and become a physician assistant, follow the steps below.

Documents needed
Two new endorsed passport-size photographs Two letters of recommendation A copy of your degree and SHS certificates
Transcript of original six-month bank account NSS Certificate
A confirmation of online enrollment.

ADDITIONALLY READ: Six-Month Pharmacy Courses in Ghana.
Take note that there will be an introductory course followed by an entrance test. This will cost you GHC 1,250.00.

The Access Course is a two-week course.

English Language, Quantitative Methods, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Anatomy and Physiology are all included in the Access Course.

Although attendance at the Access Course is not needed, it is strongly recommended.
