Leadership and Advocacy Scholarships for Women.

These scholarships are provided annually for African women’s human rights lawyers who are committed to returning home to their countries in order to advance the status of women and girls throughout their careers.

Scholarship Benefits: The award covers the tuition fees for the Foundations of American Law and Legal Education Course (US$2,200) and for the LL.M. degree (U.S. $47,000) at the Georgetown University Law Center.

Citizens of the following countries have benefited in times past:  Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

African Students Scholarships for Botswana students at Brandeis University USA

The Poverty Alleviation and Development (P&D) Scholarship for the Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development will be awarded to a national of any of the following African countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Scholarship Benefits: The scholarship covers the candidates’ full tuition but does not cover airfare, health insurance or any living expenses.

Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship

This scholarship is available to outstanding under-30 postgraduate students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies.

Scholarship Benefits: The Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant: 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. Application from PhD candidates will also be considered in the situation where doctoral degrees are necessary for the career objectives of the student.

AAUW International Fellowships

These fellowships are awarded to international women in research to support one year of study in the United States at the Master’s, PhD or Postdoctoral level.

Scholarship Benefits: The award is valued at $18,000 for Master’s/Professional Fellowship, $20,000 for the Doctorate fellowship, and $30,000 for the Postdoctoral fellowship.

This scholarship is offered by East Tennessee State University to new international students seeking a graduate or undergraduate degree in the University.

The scholarship award is designed to cover 50 percent of the total of in and out-of-state tuition and maintenance fees only and it is available for; Eight semesters for undergraduate recipients, Five semesters for recipients seeking a Master’s degree, and Eight semesters for doctoral students.
